Chrysanthemum on A5 Arches Aquarelle Cotton Rag paper. Toned Cyanotype.

I make each cyanotype print by hand coating cotton rag paper with a specially mixed light sensitive solution in very dim lighting. I then let it dry overnight. I expose it under a large negative and a piece of glass, usually the sun. I then rinse the paper in water and the blue image emerges.

This print has been toned with coffee to change the blues to a darker navy colour and to add depth to the midtones.

Each print is slightly different due to the brushstrokes and other variations in the handmade process.
